"Polyanism" ... V , ? Xxx. OO. Blue

Hello everyone!

Today is my Birthday and I am old enough to to hide my age...  My Inner 'Mischievous child', is telling both my 'Inner Critic' and 'Perfectionist', that as my 'Birthday gift';they decided to be 'Silent' for a change X My Two Diaries  I would like to share now; a few stories about my "Advancing Age" and make you smile (maybe even laugh) as I did, when I was watching the History channel and suddenly realized, that Hitler is beaming younger and younger, with each birthday I celebrate...

The main subject in this 'Birthday Post', is our two Opposite Poles: What could be more far apart, then  Optimist and Pessimist? You probably know the Definition of these two: "The Pessimist's Cup is always half Empty, while the Optimist's, is Half Full..." Since my early childhood, my cup was not only half full   it was Overflowing with Optimism...  During my last trip to Israel, I asked my cousin Rachel, who was sixteen years older then me, what kind of a child I used to be...  Her answer was: “You were the happiest and most caring child I knew! Full of life and love, always singing, dancing and laughing or making up stories and games... I remember wishing that when I have kids, they would be just like you..."

Years ago, when I was ready to begin my studies in Psychology, the students were required to have a Psychiatric evaluation first...  I was sitting at the psychiatrist office, facing him and was a bit nervous, when he put down his reading glasses, lifted up his head, looked at me and said: "Well, acording to the test you took, it seems that you are a classic case of 'Pollyanna'!" (The girl in the book and movie, who sees everything through 'Rose Colored' Glasses...) The way the 'Good doctor' said it; did not sound as if he was 'Complementing me'...I was confused and asked:"May I know what's wrong with being an Optimist? Isn't it better to be happy, then be a miserable Pessimist? "Sure!" The doctor replied, "Except that it is not a true picture of Life... When "Pollyanna" (The Eternal Optimist) finally removes her rose colored glasses, Reality, may be shocking and even potentially harmful..." I completely disagreed with his answer and wanted to argue with him, but didn't want to take a chance, that I wouldn't be accepted into his program; so I kept silent, which was not at all like me...X "Be patient and argue with him later, After you get in to the program!"x I told myself

At one point, I discovered, that there was actually a term, which describes Overoptimism: it was called  'Pollyanism'... By now, after working in the field of psychology for so many years; my “Optimism glass" still remains (most of the time) full up to the brim! However, I have learned that in order to balance our poles, we need to go through the Ups and Downs of the "Seesaw Ride of Life"; Until we learn how to get this balance... Does it mean that if my cup is overflowing with Optimism, Love, Joy, Laughter, Excitement and Fearlessness; Would I have to go through the extremes of Negativity, as well in order to Balance? Am I suppose to experience emotions of Pessimism, Hatred, Anger, Depression, Judgment, Jealousy and Fear before I reach such a Balance?  " Don't worry!" I am told "This 'Up and Down' emotional Seesaw Rides will be only temporary...  This is not much of a comfort, nor compensation, for the pain we excperience during this 'Crazy Ride', we are going through ...

The feeling that "Something New and Exciting, is about to take place in my life!" Is familiar... For   some time, I have been noticing, changes in the way I feel, think and react,as well as becoming more 'Mature' and 'Serious'; after each new birthday... My 'Natural bubbly Joy of life', seems to become a bit subdued at times, as unfamiliar 'Dark seriousness', is trying to penetrate my Bright optimism...(Maybe in order to create more balance...) At times, it seems as if most of my life, I have been using Warm Colors Red, Pink Yellow and Orange, with a bit of light Purple, like Rainbows... Lately, I began to add to the canvas of my life, Cool shades: Dark Green, Blue, Brown, Grey and even a splash of Black from time to time... Does it mean that I finally begin to balance? Could it also be, that I am getting 'Bored' with the way things are and need some kind of change in my life?

Peter Pan

This newly found 'Grey Sadness', feels as if I am discovering and adding a new kind of unfamiliar 'Emotional Colors', to the canvas of my life; by mixing Sadness with Joy, Tears with Laughter, Desperation with Hope and Doubt with Certainty; Creating a beautiful new tapestry, to decorate the walls of my life...Could this mixture bring a new kind of balance? balance?  It feels as if my Overoptimistic"Peter Pen", is finally calming down a bit, but I can not tell if I feel happy or sad about it... Perhaps a mixture of bouth!

At times, when my newly found 'Gray Sadness', feels too heavy, as if it is 'Tipping the 'Scale of my      Joy' to the other extreme... I try to lighten up, by going back to some of my Happy Memories; when my dreams and desires become a Reality! After all, what could be more exciting and empowering, then creating a thought, an idea, a wish or a fantasy and Manifesting it?! I have always known, I have some kind of a creative power... The first time was in High School; when I was able to accomplished my desire to go beyond the borders of our tiny country and discover the world! (or at list a small part of it...) I shared with our teacher Mr Seel, my idea taking an 'Educational class trip', to the near by small island, Cyprus (even smaller then Israel...) To my amazement, he liked the idea! The second time, was after I completed my Military service and boarded a ship to Europe, before taking another one, to the the  U.S.A...

On my way to Europe

Haifa Port

My excitement, over these accomplishments of turning my dreams into reality; gave me a feeling of pure Joy, which had nothing to do with my Ego...I knew that I was  going through  unusual experiences of discovering, as well as embracing my newly found "Power of Creation''! It would take me several years, before I received my PhD in 'Psychology and Human Behavior'; an accomplishment which helped me derived an amazing satisfaction, from the fact, that I am able to help people heal, from verity of Emotional disorders and get over lingering Traumas and Pain...

The Bible tells us how God, who created of the Universe in Seven days, looked at his accomplishment at the end of each day and was expressing his approval:" And God saw that it was good".... At the end of the six days, when the world was finally completed, X the Bible tells us:x"And God saw everything he has done and it was good, it was very good!"  Since we are told, that God created "Men" in 'His Image'; we  asume, that God  gave us the ability to use the combination of our Imagination, Thoughts,Wards and Action; to change our own world..... Don't hesitate to use it !

Unexpected Journey. ... XX V ,OO

Hello everyone,

Recently, I came back from a three weeks visit to Israel, my country of birth, which I had not been for quite a while... The main reason for this visit, besides missing my extended family and friends, was the fact that my marriage of 45 years, seemed to be going through some difficulties...  My beloved husband and best friend Al (Albie) and I, were excperiencing "Communication problem"... The fact Al decided to retire much earlier then planed, did not help; it actually seemed to be a big part of our problems...Al was now spending most of his time, sitting in his reclining chair, reading newspapers and magazines or watching the news on the Television... I tried to suggest he volunteers to help, with one of the many organizations, he was supporting all these years, but he 'Snapped at me', saying that he was "Very happy just to be home!" I gently suggested that he may be excperiencing some depression, after selling the business and it may be a good idea, to see a Psychiatrist X"Maybe You are the one who should see a psychiatrist!  Al said, As far as I am concerned, I am very happy to finally get rid of the pressure of this Business and  enjoy staying in this beautiful home; sit in the garden, read my News Papers and magazines and watch television whenever I feel like doing it!"...

Al and his
"Hobby"
Years ago, when Al was asked by friends, about his Hobbies, he said:  "I have only One Hobby - Shira is my hobby!" However, for quite a while after his retirement, my husband and his 'Hobby' (me) began to be very Irritated and Frustrated with one another... I had my office at home (working as a Psychologist) and was using a separate entrance... For a while, we had a "Peaceful co-existence" but even though we had a large two story house, we were bumping in to each other way too often... When I realized that our tempers were escalating I decided that a short separation may be a refreshing solution... I was hoping that a three weeks visit in Israel (by myself) to see my family and close friends, will do the trick! When I shared this idea with Al, he gladly agreed...(which hurt my feelings...) I could understand why it was me, who needed to get away, but what reason did Al had to behave as if he can't wait to see me go?

I had to make peace with the fact that my 'poor husband's emotional health, was deteriorating and most probably will get even worse... It broke my heart to watch my proud, handsome husband, who was always dignified, neat and concerned about his appearance; changing in front of my eyes, into an 'Angry old man' who is sitting around, wearing his rob most of the day and after reading the Newspaper, was watching T.V...  Eventually our daughter Karen helped me find a caretaker, named Raymundo (Ray) to keep Al company... At the beginning my proud husband refused to have a 'Helper', claming he did not need any help and is perfectly able to take care of himself!  However, to my great relief he eventualy stopped to resist and even seemed to enjoy Ray's company...

Al, "The Star
of the Year"

I told Ray, how different Al used to be: Loving and kind, very friendly, with a great  sense of humor... It was hard to believe that the person I was now living with, who      used   to have  such a great sense of humor; is the same man...The man I knew, was Loving Funny, Friendly, Generous, Sensitive, Caring and had a great Sense of Humor        I was thinking of the time, when Al took a small Furniture Company in Los Angeles and turned it in to a Big Business, with offices in the U.S and Italy... When his gradual decline began, I forced myself to remember the wonderful moments of love, joy and laughter, we shared for so many years... As Al's health worsened his care taker Ray, was transitioning from 'Part-time' to a 'full-time' caretaker, who slept at our home... Ray's presence and Karen's urging that it was time I see my family and friends in Israel, eventually helped   me let go of my hesitations 'To leave Al even for two weeks"... However, after Karen promised to move back home and make sure things were going well, I began to pack my luggage...  Lea'le, my beloved Israeli cousins, who is 17 years older then me, called to say how all the cousins are waiting impatiently  for my arrival, so they could embrace and spoil me, their youngest cousin' Shira'le', who left  Israel, to live in the "Diaspora", so far away from home...

Harriet and Al on
one of our trips

Before leaving on a direct flight from L.A to Tel Aviv, I went with Harriett to visit Marco at the Institution for Dementia Patients, where he was staying for the past seven months... Marco's illness was so advanced, he was no longer able to recognize the people around him... When we came to his room, he was lying in bed facing the wall... "Marco! Shira is here! Do You still remember her?" Harriet said...  Marco turned, looked at me with a blank star and shook his head from one side to the other... It broke my heart and I walked outside to wipe off my tears... The nurse put Marco in a wheelchair and we went to the garden..."Marco, would you like me to sing the Hebrew song  you like"Hava Nagela? " I asked, He nodded his head to say yes and seemed to be pleased when I sang and was smiling and tapping his foot on the floor...

Marco and Shira
on a "Coffee break"

In the "Four  Musketeers" (which we named our selves) would often talk     about our belief in God's existence (or lack of it...) as well as the the possibility   of the 'Afterlife'...Harriett and Al, the "Non believers", where teasing Marco and me about our 'Deep spiritual conversations'... "Are you two talkingto God again?! Please give him my best regards!" X Al said.X "Yes, mine too!" Harriett  added...  After we set in the garden for quiet a while, the nurse finally came to take Marco back to his room... When Harriett stepped out I took the opportunity to sit X next  to Maroc.x "I would like to tell you Marco, that one of these days, the time would come for you to go Home, our 'Real Home'; back to God! Don't be afraid it is a wonderful place to be in!" When I hugged him to say goo by, I thought I could see in his eye, a spark of recognition... Three days later, I was on an El-Al Airplane on my way to Israel...

I arrived at Lod Airport after a long fourteen hours flight... Peleg, my beloved second cousin was there waiting for me... Through the window of his car, I noticed the changes which took place in Israel, since my last visit... We passed beautiful neighborhoods and new fashionable shops and restaurants... By now most people know that the 'Small young country',Israel, is one of the world's leading forces, in the fields  of Science, Medicine and Technology... The Israelis are also known for their Cynical Sense of Humor which is often directed at themselves and their tiny country... They love to laugh, in spite of the constant  conflicts with their Arab neighbors', who reapetadly express their hatred towards the tiny Jewish State and keep on voicing their determination to "Wipe Israel off the face off the Map..."

Each time I visit Israel, no matter how long I have been absent, the moment the plane lands, it feels     as  if I had never left... There were so many people to see and visit, between my large family and the circles of friends from the different periods of my life... My family was shocked when I expressed my  plan of going to a hotel... They were actually insulted, even hurt! "What happened to you Shira? Did     you become an American?!"They insisting I stay at their home and were insulted, when I finally chose    to stay with my"Best friend" Tsipi and her husband Jacob's condo, forgiving me only after I explained  that the reason for this choice, was the fact it was Centrally Located, which makes it easier for me to      see everyone... My Jet Leg was keeping me up at night and sleeping during the day... On the third day when I woke up around 2:00 pm; Tsipi made a strong black Turkish Coffee, to keep me awake and jokingly asked  what would I like to eat; Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner...

After the second day, I was ready to meet with the relatives on my mother's side. It took place at our oldest cousin's Leal'e Condominium in Tel Aviv and I got to see my cousins and their families, whom       I  have not seen for several years...There were many people crowding the small apartment: First cousins second cousins and some of the neighbors, who came to meet the Ccousin from America!"Lea'le's condo was set for an informal dinner of Self-Served Buffet... The food was plenty and the happy conversation  was disrupted from time to time, with shirks of laughter...  Suddenly, there was a call for silence! "Shhhh, the evening news is on!" As usual, everyone including the children, became very quiet, which was a stark contrast with the happy noise in the apartment, just a few moments before...

Peleg and his son

Soldiers preparing

The reason for the immediate hush, was the up coming news on  the television, which all Israelis listen to, in case of an attack by one of the Arab countries... In such a case, the soldiers who were off duty and those in the 'Reserve', would chanage to their  military uniforms  and rush to their Command Post... Young and older solders, would be often fighting side by side, like my cousin Peleg and his son; both high-ranking officers. This time there was no cause for alarm..The adults got back to their conversations while the kids played... Suddenly there was a deep silence.. One of my second cousins said: "It seems that 'Anti Zionism' is now replacing the old 'Antisemitism!... I wounder what those who demonstrate  against Israel would say, if  Suicide Bombers were blowing themselves up, in their cities!      I don't believe they would be very happy!"

"Don't worry!" Our hostess cousin Lea'le said; "It will not take long before other countries, begin to experience the same things we do! Europe and America are full of Palestinians! I know that not that All Palestinians are Trouble Makers, but many of them are! One day these people who are now demonstrating against us in Israel, are going to have their first taste of what we have been enduring, for so many years!" The evening came to an end... My first and second cousins, made me promise to come for a visit in their home. Several days later I met with my fathers' family, which is much smaller... We enjoyed a calm evening together, looking at photo Albums, laughing, sharing memories and enjoying the delicious dinner!

We talked about our childhood and the summer vacations, we used to spent at each other's house... Our favorite place was the farm of our relatives in Givat-Ada; were we watched them miking cows and were helping to pick fruits from the trees.. We talked about the  rides on the old donkey and how our uncle was"forcing us, "the city dweller "to work harder"! when we were picking the vegetables or the fruit... We  were talking, laughing and enjoying the excellent meal, when one of my cousins cell phone rang; her eighteen years old daughter, who left us an hour before, to celebrate a friend's birthday, at a restaurant in Jaffa; was on the other line... She was crying hysterically, saying that an Arab suicide bomber, just blew himself up, not too far from where she and her friends were standing, describing the"Dismembered limbs" and "Sea of Blood" on the sidewalk..."Are you hurt?!" Her mother was asking than turned to us:"She is all right, but it sounds as if she is in  a shock!" Her parents left to pick her up and the rest of us, after hugging each other scattered in different directions..."Welcome to Israel!" One of my cousins looked at me, with an ironic, whimsical smile and gave me a hug before leaving...

The next morning Tsipi woke me up early... I looked at her face and realized that something else must have happened, besides the Massacre in Jaffa..."What's wrong?!" I asked, sitting upright in bed."Pick up the phone!" Tsipi said in a strange voice;"Your husband Al is on the line... I grabbed the phone from her hand: "Hi Al, you must have heard what happened in Jaffa last night!" I said, "Can you believe that Ada's daughter was there? She is OK, but several of her friends were badly wounded"..." Shira, I also have bad news."Al said with a choked voice: "Marco died last night... I believe that Harriet needs your support now! With all that's going on in Israel, you better come home right away, even if you have to buy a new ticket! " He told me "What?! Marco died? I'll call right away to change the ticket and let you know when I am coming back... How is Harriette taking it? Tell her how sorry I am and that I will soon see her in L.A!

Lonesome Moses

The flight on the El Al plane, back to the States seemed to be taking forever... Between the drinks, lunch, dinner and watching movies, I was able to suppress for    a while the shock over the suicide bomber in Jaffa and Marco's death and no time to think about "the crisis" in my marriage... A voice in my head was telling me not to worry... It became increasingly difficult to keep my concerns and pain at bay, as well as the 'dark thoughts' which kept on coming up...

"I wonder what Al is thinking now? Are we going to separate? If so who is going to   keep Moses? No! I shouldn't even think this way! I must remember how powerful thoughts and words could be! I am sure that everything is going to be fine again...  So why is my heart breaking and a flood of uncertainty and sadness, threatens to sweep me away?  I can't believe that Marco died! Poor Marco! I am so glad I visited him just before I left for Israel... I hope I helped a little with his 'Transition', by having all the 'Conversations' we used to have about life after death... You will be badly missed dear friend!

On my flight back home, I turned my face to the window, so my fellow passengers wouldn't see my  tears ... The sun was beginning to rise behind the fluffy clouds; painting them Light Pink, which reminded me of the pink Cotton Candy, I loved in my childhood...  Finally I closed my eyes and began to meditate eventually falling into a very deep sleep...

 Pink "cotton candy" clouds

When I was finally home Al and I were somewhat reserved at the beginning. then our eyes teared, when we talked about Marco... 'Moses' was jumping all over me, crying with joy... To make sure I realize how much he missed me, he peed on the floor. I guess it was much better then doing it on a Persian Rug...

Embracing Good And Evil To be fixed v ( Erace photos of books below )VVCX / Corect

Hello everyone,

It is said, that so far our life on planet Earth, has been one of 'Polarity Consciousness: Love vs       Hate     Light vs Darkness, Spirit vs Matter, Truth vs Lies, Joy vs Pain, Peace vs War, etc… In other words; all the Extremes which usually create Separation in our the 3rd Dimension and keeps us away      from the peaceful Oneness Consciousness of the Fifth dimension...  Closing the huge gap between the      two  Poles, would help us create Balance, Unification and Harmony: Not an Easy Task...

Throughout history, before big changes took place, there was some kind of Revolution, which often 'Tipped the Scales' from one Social Hierarchy to Another like Masters and Servants... The Industrial Revolution (1760 -1840) as well as the French Revolution (1789) brought many changes (social and others)...  More 'Respectable Jobs' were now available for the former 'Servant's of the Aristocracy, which helped "Close some of the Gaps', between the lavish lifestyle of the 'Upper class' and that of the 'Starving Masses'... The former servants were now working in factories and offices, opening small shops and were discovering more 'Profitable employment opportunities'; these kind of changes were behind  the birth of the Middle Class...

Many people claim that 'Ups and Downs', are a part of the Natural Functioning of our world: Wars are    followed by a period of Peace, after a "Dry Winter" one may see Rain and Floods... The Cosmic Times is  telling us otherwise: "Until now we believed that these Cycles are parts of life, like the change of seasons  We are now learning that things are about to change, as humanity is  about to embarking on an amazing Journey, which is going to lead us to the 5th dimension; A world of Magic, unconditional love  peace and Oneness Consciousnesses! Our new word would be the a version of the old Garden of Eden.  Many may ask “When are these Changes coming already? How long would it take to get there?!” The answer is realy depending on us...To begin with, we have to let go of the 'Baggage' we have been carrying in the 3D; Fear Hatred, Selfishness, Greed, Jealousy, Control, Guilt, Shame, and Doubts. so we would be able to achieve  a higher level of Compassion, Forgiveness x and Love..... X

When Isis and other Terror organizations began to pop up; people in Europe as well as the leaders in   the U.S and other countries of the Free World; were sitting on their sofas, watching on the TV screen  how 'Christian-Arabs' who refused to convert to Islam, were being chased away from their homes and leave behind everything they owned... "This is Unfair and Shocking!" We we told  each other; sitting in our comfortable living rooms, in front of the television watching this Tragedy, unfolding in front of our eyes... All we could do was to send our Donations and Hope, that the right organizations would be helping these 'Poor, Unfortunate Refuges...

On March 20th 2012, a Jewish school in Toulouse, France; was attacked by Arab terrorists, who     killed a Rabbi and three young children... The French citizens were naturally upset; “How dare these Foreigners come to our country and disturb our Tranquility?!” Even though they felt badly for the victims, it didn't seem as if this attack was taken personally... After all '"It is a common knowledge that Muslim Terrorists often target Jews! We can't understand why aren't they taking their fight elsewhere?...”

Only after the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo  in Paris, printed a caricature making fun of the    Profit Mohamed, came a strong reaction...  Arab Terrorists killed twelve French Citizens, causing the  French National Fury to  erupt: "How dare these Barbarian Foreigners soil the sidewalks of our beloved Paris? The City of Light! La ville des Lumiere! The city which gave birth to Moliere and Sartre, Monet and Manet, the well known Sorbonne, delicious Croissants, the Champs-Elysée and 'Maurice Chevalier' who sang the chanson: ♪ ״C'est si bon,C'est si bon...״ ♪

More then one million Frenchmen (and women) took to the streets of Paris, to protest this terrible Evil

Most of us heard read or were told repeatedly, about the impotence of Forgiveness... Jesus Christ asked God to forgive his enemies; even as he was dying on the cross... I have to admit, there is No Way I am able to forgive these kind of Murderers... However, I finally had an "Aha Moment"; realizing that we were not asked to 'Embrace' those killers Physically, but rather 'Embrace the Realization', that if it was not for the Terrorists Actions; the Peace Lovers would not have the opportunity to unite against Evil... A unity which is necessary, in order to execute God’s Divine Plan, of returning us to our lost 'Garden of Eden which we are told is the up coming  5th Dimension" ....

Hiroshima 1945 Hiroshima now Berlin 1945 Berlin now

Some of my readers have been asking me, to write more about my present life... Well, I have written before about my husband Al, so here is more information about Karen; our one and only child, who was born in Atlanta Georgia... As a young child Karen was always Saving 'helpless creatures', feeding and giving water to "Julia', a dove with a broken wing, taking care of a ' Poor wounded Caterpillar she named "Fluffy" and was trying to help 'Lost Snails' "Find their Mommy"... She would save Bees from drowning in our pool and cried whenever she saw a dead bird ... Karen loved all animals: Dogs, Cats Horses, pigs Camels, Elephants, Dolphins and even Snakes... (as you can see in the photographs below)

I remember how I 'Cringed', when Karen was showing me, some of these photos: The Giant Snake     over  her shoulder, the Smaller one around a her neck, the Elephant which seems to be choking her, the scary Delphine with it's sharp teeth and the Camel, ready to take off and gallop away with my only child     (God Forbids...)    Bellow, are several books you may find very interesting...
