Fear of Change and the Unfamiliar. OO V,

Hello everyone,

One of the passions my husband Al and I shared, was our love for Classical Music... Since we moved to L.A in 1977, we have held Season Tickets to the LA Philharmonic. First in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and later, when it moved a new home: The "Walt Disney Concert Hall".

concert hall
Walt Disney
Concert Hall

This unusual and amazing new concert hall, with its State of the Art Acoustic System, enables people to experience the performance from four directions!  Out of curiosity we have tried them all: Front Back and the two Sides o this huge place... For the first time ever, Al and I were able to see the Conductor's full face, during the concert, rather then his profile... We ultimately settled back into our original seats, facing the orchestra, looking at the conductor back...

The two of us, did not like Contemporaneity Music! We enjoy the old familiar classical music,of Mozart Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn, Schubert, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Chopin and Mendelssohn... In short, most of the composers from the Baroque and Romantic eras. We also greatly enjoyed the some what more Contemporary music by Ravel, Debussy, Strauss and others and disliked modern music...

String section

We never appreciated the Postmodernists, nor did we care for the Contemporary Music. As a matter of fact - we dislike it... The two of us made sure to select the concerts we enjoyed and avoid the others, preferring to attend the Friday Night Casuals, where the dress code, has been so informal, that even the members of the orchestra and the Conductor, were often wearing Jeans and open shirts... These evenings, included interesting lectures, before the performance, with questions and answers, regarding the up coming concert...

Cellos

I don’t quiet remember, when the two of us began to realize, that Contemporary music, began to appear on the program; usually at the end of some of our concerts. When we complained, that we did not care for this kind of music, we were told that  the Management finds it necessary, to educate the public, how to appreciate the New Music... No matter how many people we contacted, trying to explain, that we don’t like to have anything which is shoved down our throats...In this case, down our ears,  the answer was always polite, but firm:"People should be exposed to New Music!"Al and I, dislike (rather hated) to be told what to do, especially Al...We were so frustrated and upset, that    we refused to renew our season tickets... For a whole year, we did not attend the concerts! (Talk about "Cutting your Nose, to spite your Face"... (In this case 'Cutting your ears'...) We  finally found a solution: Since most of the time, the contemporary music, was at the end of the concert, we would walk out after the first half during intermission...

Once, when Al was out of town, I asked a friend to come with me to one of these concerts. She talked me out of leaving, when the contemporary music was about to  be played and guess what? I liked it!  Maybe the fact Al wasn’t with me, to reinforce our common Inner Resisters to Contemporary music, helped me be more open and  realize that I didn’t give it enough of a chance and understood, that the more I expose myself to this kind of music, the faster I may learn to enjoy it...

Percussion

Why am I telling you all this? I am compering my resistance, to contemporary music to the Resistance I have been receiving, from some readers, about my "Metaphysical News" ... My friend Alan from Virginia, who has been reading my Blog, wrote to say that he loves reading about my life story, however, the parts about "Metaphysics" are hard for him to understand: "I am just not at all Spiritual!" He said (The Magical Farm.) Two other readers, who were inspired by Alan's “courage”, wrote to confess, that they are not spiritual either and feel the same as he does, adding they hope my feelings are not hurt and just  like Alan, reassuring me, that my Autobiography "Is a pleasure to read" since it takes them, back to    their own childhood and young adulthood... "Keep on writing!" They said, "But please, try to cut short the Spiritual staff..."

It would be very easy for me, to write just about my adventures and Nomadic Life, before and after meeting my husband; but my experience with Contemporary Music, makes me realize, that in order to grow, we need to rise above our Comfort Zone (The familiar) and be willing to explore and try to enjoy new perspectives and ideas... Though I can perfectly understand how difficult and even threatening some of the new information, about 'Metaphysics' may be, for those who have no idea what it is all about...

I remember how Panic stricken I became, when my “Guru” Ellen, told me, that a ‘Celestial group         of beings’, selected Me (together with other spiritual teachers) to become a guide, who will help people move from the Third to the Fifth Dimension....“But I know very little about these dimensions! How can     I teach such complicated and difficult material?” I lamented... Ellen was laughing: "Don’t worry Shira you will be guide!" Which made me even more nervous, visualizing 'Mysterious voices' or 'Transparent messengers', entering my house and my life...  Five years past, before I began to be more aware, of my “Assignment", realizing that a part of my Spiritual Work, is to keep on pushing my clients and readers     to expand their horizon...

It could be very frustrating to be presented, with a new and strange Concept, which we do not quiet understand...I always make a special effort, to translate the information I receive, into a simpler, more familiar language by 'Sprinkling' a bit of humor here and there, to make it sound less Serious..Please   don't be discouraged, when you read some parts in my posts, which may not be easy to understand...   Let's try not to label ourself as "Not a Spiritual Person"... All of us are spiritual beings, weather we   know it or not.. I have been writing repeatedly about the 3rd and 5th Dimensions, repeating words        like Metaphysics, Spirituality, Ascension, Enlightenment, New Age, Vibration, Transition  Energy    Power of the Spoken Word and Total Transformation...I wouldn't be surprised if at one point, you         may feel like screaming: “Not again!!!” I would rather you laugh, even at me...

If you are the type to 'Shot down the door to your brain', whenever you hear or see "Annoying    Words"  which you don't understand; I would like to ask you to please leave this "door" a slightly       open.A small beam of light, may penetrate and transform the darkness of your Fear of the unknown        to a Bright Light! One main fear many of us share (except for the Narcissists) is that we may not be        be smart or intelligent enough, to understand new Concepts...The good news, is that almost everyone          is afraid of the unknown and the Unfamiliar... The moment we stop resisting and begin to shed, some          some light on the darkness of our fears, the mind begins to expend and we may experience an 'AHA'    Moment!  If you never went through such an experience, let me tell you: It feels great!

let's try to enjoy this amazing, Mystical Journey to the New Age of Enlightenment and Higher Consciousness... When we stop resisting, we notice how the 'seeds of understanding' begin to sprout          and become colorful and Fragrant Flowers... Once we are over our childish fear, that we may appear          to be "Stupid", because we don't understand', some of the new concepts; we may begin to have unusual Spiritual Experiences and even become more Clairvoyant... So be patient and get ready... It would not  take long, before all of us, are going to find ourselves in the Fifth dimension!

With Love and Light,
Shira
