A Small blog about Life's Big Surprises... V, OO

Hello everyone,

Besides having great fun by celebrating, traveling, laughing and spending a great time together            the "Four Musketeers" were always there, to comfort and encourage one another, during hard times especially when our parents, began to get sick and later passed away... As the years moved on, the        four of us, began to visit each other, in various hospitals! Ironically, even though I was the youngest        in  our small group of four, I was the first to be going through serious health issues...

At thirty nine, I was hospitalized for a "Partial kidney Removal surgery"( over seven hours!) This "Adventure", was followed by several other 'Surprises', like an "Acute Transverse Myelitis" as well as Encephalitis (for more details go to google...) During the years I would visit the hospital several times  One of them, to remove a 'Benign Tumor', from my Lower Intestines and another, to treat a saver case     of Pneumonia... The Center of Attention was my "Brain Tumor"! (The Beginning) which I recovered  from, with the help of good doctors, my 'Sense of Humor', positive thinking and the healing power of 'Creative Visualizations'...The greatest help was the love, devotion and support, I received from Karen    and Al, who was always able to lift my spirit, with the great Sense of Humor he displayed, inspite of      the worries and fears he felt for me...  It all played an amazing part in my recovery ...

Up   "If I can do it, so can you!" I would tell my friends and clients, who were about to go to the the hospital... I once read, that"The only thing Fear is afraid of; is Laughter!"  Let's remember to smile and laugh a lot, more so when we have to go through situations! When we trealize that the emotion of Fear     is trying to take over. A great and easy way; is to tell the Fear: "Delete, Delete!!!" Using a commanding and authoritative voice... People who do so, will find out how fast their fears disappear! Years after my hospital "Adventure", when  the other " Musketeer's" turn came to be hospitalized, they too made an  effort to smile after complicated surgeries: Al's back surgery, Marco's lung cancer and Harriette's breast cancer... These were difficult days; but we were there for one another, with our love Jokes and laughter!

The above photo on the left, was taken in the hotel room, in Paris, during our  Europe trip, with Marco and Harriett, when Al became very ill and we had to 'Cut Short', our vacation and fly back to the U.S for   a major Back Surgery.... In the center is a photo of Harriett, Marco and Karen, as they celebrate Marco's recovery from his operation... On the right, is Harriet at home, after her hospital stay; Joking about the empty space, of her missing left breast... At moments like these, important to have clos friends, with whom one can share their pain, besides the joyful moments of life...

With Love and Light,

Shira
